GENMAB APPOINTS RACHEL GRAVESEN, FORMERLY OF CNBC, AS VICE PRESIDEN OF PUBLIC RELATIONS/INVESTOR RELATIONS

Copenhagen, Denmark – December 17, 2001 - Genmab A/S (CSE: GEN and Neuer Markt: GE9D) today announced the appointment of Rachel Curtis Gravesen to the position of Vice President, Public and Investor Relations.

Ms. Gravesen joins Genmab from CNBC where as Nordic editor she was responsible for all of CNBC’s financial coverage in the Nordic region. Prior to joining CNBC, Ms. Gravesen held the title of news editor at Denmark’s English language national newspaper, The Copenhagen Post. Previous to this position, she served as a reporter, producer, senior journalist and duty editor for the BBC covering national news stories for a wide range of programs. She has also worked at the Associated Press’ Danish bureau and for Deutsche Welle’s English service.

“Rachel brings to Genmab a solid background in business news communication and a depth of media experience,’’ said Lisa N. Drakeman, Ph.D., Chief Executive Officer of Genmab. “We are thrilled to have her join our team as we work to communicate Genmab’s accomplishments as a product development company.”

At Genmab, Ms. Gravesen will oversee all of Genmab’s communications and investor relations and help the company build its brand, while broadening awareness and streamlining communication with the media and investor communities.

Ms. Gravesen received a B.A. and an M.A. in archaeology and anthropology from Cambridge University and earned the industry-recognized diploma in journalism at City University in London.
